Hapoel Be'er Sheva Adds Guard M.J. Walker from NBA G League
Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona has officially signed American guard M.J. Walker, who stands at 1.96 meters tall, as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026-27 Israeli Basketball Premier League season. The 28-year-old player is expected to arrive in Israel by the end of the week.
Walker joins the Israeli club after a solid season in the United States, where he played for the Atlanta Hawks' G League affiliate. In the 2025-26 season, he averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game over 35 appearances in the development league. He shot 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
Walker brings a varied international and domestic basketball background. He played four seasons at Florida State University, achieving his best collegiate numbers in the 2020-21 season with 12.2 points per game. Since then, he has had stints in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns, as well as playing professionally in Canada, France, and New Zealand.
The signing comes shortly after Hapoel Be'er Sheva-Dimona secured a spot in the Winner Cup quarterfinals with an 84-75 victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion.
