Hapoel Be'er Sheva Signs Guard M.J. Walker from NBA G League
Hapoel Be'er Sheva Dimona has officially signed guard M.J. Walker, who is expected to arrive in Israel by the end of the week. The 28-year-old, standing at 1.96 meters, joins the team as they continue to build their roster for the upcoming 2026-27 Israeli Basketball Premier League season. Walker comes to Be'er Sheva after a varied career, including four seasons at Florida State University, where he achieved his best collegiate numbers in the 2020-21 season with 12.2 points per game.
Since college, Walker has primarily played in the NBA G League, making two appearances in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns. His career also includes stints in Canada, the French league, and New Zealand. Last season, he played for the Atlanta G League team, averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. During the 2025-26 season, Walker played 35 games in the U.S. development league, shooting 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
The signing comes shortly after Hapoel Be'er Sheva secured a spot in the Winner Cup quarterfinals with an 84-75 victory over Maccabi Rishon LeZion on Tuesday.
