Maccabi Tel Aviv Considers Signing Former NBA Guard Shake Milton Amid Uncertainty Over Loni Walker

Maccabi Tel Aviv is evaluating the possibility of signing American guard Shake Milton, who was recently offered to the team. This consideration arises due to uncertainty surrounding the future of current guard Loni Walker and the potential need to strengthen the backcourt if Walker departs. Milton, 29 years old and 1.96 meters tall, played last season for Partizan Belgrade after spending seven seasons in the NBA. His transition to the Serbian club was hampered by injuries, and he was recently released, becoming a free agent.

During his NBA career, Milton played for Philadelphia, Minnesota, Detroit, New York, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles. In the EuroLeague, he averaged 6.9 points per game, while in the Adriatic League, he posted stronger stats with 12.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. Walker's future with Maccabi remains undecided; although his contract includes an NBA exit option that has expired, no official offers from NBA teams have been received. Contractually, Walker is expected to continue with Maccabi, but the club has expressed dissatisfaction with his performance, and he was not registered for the season's decisive stages.

Walker joined Maccabi last summer on a long-term deal and was considered the club's key signing. However, if he does not secure an NBA contract, Maccabi might negotiate a mutual termination. Until a decision is made regarding Walker, the club will continue to consider signing Milton as a potential reinforcement for the team.
