Hapoel Holon Adds Guard Skylar Wicks as Potential Israeli Citizen
Israeli basketball club Hapoel Holon announced Tuesday the signing of American guard Skylar Wicks, 27, who stands at 1.97 meters. Wicks, who has Jewish heritage, will be eligible to play as a naturalized Israeli in the Israeli Premier League once the naturalization process is completed. He can immediately join the team in the Champions League.
Wicks played four seasons at St. Francis College, averaging 17.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. Despite receiving approval for a fifth collegiate year, he opted to join Hapoel Holon, coached by Dejan Radonjić. The team is still seeking an additional foreign guard.
Daniel Revach, the club's professional manager, described Wicks as an athletic and versatile guard capable of playing multiple positions. Revach highlighted Wicks's strong three-point shooting, scoring ability, and his significant rebounding prowess, noting he was among the top rebounding guards in his final college season.
