Israeli Arab Youth Charged with Inciting Terrorism, Supporting Hamas

A 19-year-old resident of Shaqib al-Salam, Dhaif Allah Abu Regeila, has been indicted on charges of inciting terrorism and expressing identification with Hamas. The charges stem from a joint investigation by the Southern District Police's Central Unit and the Shin Bet security agency.

Authorities allege that Abu Regeila disseminated extremist content on social media throughout 2026. This content reportedly included incitement to violence, praise for terrorist acts, and expressions of solidarity with Hamas. The investigation revealed that his posts featured images and videos of Hamas operatives, footage from the October 7, 2023 attacks, and praise for Hamas leadership.

Further details indicate his online activity also included content related to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, glorification of attacks within Israel, and explicit calls for violence and terrorism. The suspect was apprehended approximately one month ago in Shaqib al-Salam by counter-terrorism forces from the National Guard in the Southern District, in cooperation with local police.

Following his interrogation by the Shin Bet and the Southern District Police's counter-terrorism unit, the Southern District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal) filed the indictment against him at the Beersheba Magistrate's Court. The charges include inciting terrorism and identifying with a terrorist organization.
