Respected Educator's Wife, Sarah Bayla Koenig, Passes Away
The passing of Sarah Bayla Koenig, wife of educator Rabbi Asher Zelig Koenig, has been announced with deep sorrow. Mrs. Koenig, described as a woman of valor, devoted to Torah and mitzvot, raised her children in a path of piety and modesty. She was known for honoring her parents and accepted suffering with faith and love, serving God joyfully.
She was the daughter of Rabbi Yeruchem Shalom Aaron Reicher of Kiryat Ata, a prominent Breslov Hasid. Her husband, Rabbi Asher Zelig Koenig, is a leading figure among the Biala Hasidim.
The funeral took place on Tuesday, October 4, 2027, at 1:00 PM, departing from Shagar Funeral Home to the Mount of Olives cemetery in Jerusalem.
The family will observe Shiva, the traditional seven-day mourning period, at their home at 13 Zionist Congress Street, Apt. 2, Ramot neighborhood, Jerusalem, concluding on the eve of Sukkot.
Her son, Rabbi Mendel Koenig, chairman of the 'Menucha V'Yeshua' organization, will receive mourners on Friday from 1:45 PM at the Beit Samuel Hotel, 6 Eliyahu Shama Street, Jerusalem.
