Deep sorrow has spread through the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak community in Beit Shemesh and among her extended family after the death of Mrs. Chaya Rachel Weinberger, who died in her prime at age 50 on the night of Shabbat Parashat Chukat after enduring severe suffering with quiet faith. She was the daughter of Rabbi Yonah Weiss and the wife of Rabbi Moshe Yechezkel Weinberger, a prominent Hasid and the founder and manager of the community organization "VeAmru Amen," as well as a major supporter of Torah and charitable institutions.
Those who knew her described her as a remarkable woman of grace, warmth, and humility who welcomed everyone with a smile. Throughout her life, she lived with simple faith and supported her husband so he could devote himself to his community work and charitable giving. She was also known for her strong devotion to mitzvot, especially the mitzvah of sukkah, and for her efforts on behalf of synagogues, study houses, and the welfare of religious women and girls.
In recent years she suffered from a serious illness, which she bore with exceptional courage and acceptance. She died on the 5th of Tammuz, and was mourned by her husband, father, family members, and shocked community members. Her funeral took place on Saturday night, beginning at the Great Beit Midrash of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Hasidic court in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood, with a large crowd and the participation of the community's rabbis and members.
The procession continued to Mount of Olives, where she was buried in the section reserved for the Hasidic dynasty's rebbes. As she left no surviving children, her family and close associates are asking the public to study Mishnayot in her memory. They referred to her as Chaya Rachel, daughter of Rabbi Yonah, and prayed that her soul be bound in the bond of life.
