Israel's National Insurance to Issue Early Payments Ahead of Sukkot Holiday
The National Insurance Institute of Israel is advancing the payment of several long-term benefits to recipients on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. This early disbursement is a result of the upcoming Sukkot holiday. The payments will be directly deposited into beneficiaries' bank accounts.
Among the benefits being paid early are those for old age, survivors, work-related injuries, alimony, disability, mobility, long-term care, and payments to Prisoners of Zion. This early distribution follows closely on the heels of child benefit payments, which were also advanced.
The September payment schedule has been significantly altered due to the Jewish holidays. Earlier in the month, in anticipation of Rosh Hashanah, the National Insurance Institute also expedited payments for unemployment and guaranteed income benefits, which were disbursed on September 8, 2026.
These schedule adjustments extend beyond benefit recipients. The deadline for self-employed individuals and employers to submit reports and pay insurance contributions, originally set for September 15, was also affected by the holiday calendar.
