West Bank Tech Worker Murdered Near Neve Tzuf; Officials Vow Response

By עוזי ברוך

The story · English

Natanel Shicron, a 40-year-old father of six and a software analyst, was killed in a shooting attack near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the West Bank on Thursday. Shicron had gone to the Ein Ra'aya spring with his eldest son to immerse himself ahead of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

Shicron worked as an information systems analyst at "Hachshara Insurance Company," and his wife, Dr. Merav Shicron, is a lecturer at Ariel University. The couple has six children, the oldest in 11th grade and the youngest four years old.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan eulogized Shicron, describing him as a "man of kindness, humble, and a lover of people." Dagan stated from the family's home, "These barbarians will never break us. We will build our land even more." He urged the Israeli government and security forces to transition from defense to offense, conduct operations throughout the region, and restore security checkpoints.

The community of Ali Zahav, where Shicron resided, issued a statement mourning his loss and pledging support to his wife and children. The Samaria Regional Council's social services and emergency teams are providing assistance to the bereaved family.
