Health Ministry Halts Use of Similac Batch in Hospitals
Israel's Ministry of Health announced on Sunday the immediate halt of usage for a specific batch of Similac formula intended exclusively for hospitals. The batch, identified by lot number 89203N201 stamped on the bottom of the bottle, is not available for retail sale.
The decision was made as a precautionary measure following a single, isolated complaint received Saturday evening regarding the hospital-specific Similac product. The ministry emphasized that this is currently a solitary report, and no adverse health effects have been reported in connection with the formula.
Abbott, the manufacturer, is actively working to supply an alternative batch to hospitals. The directive applies solely to this particular lot, and there are no restrictions on other Similac batches.
