Veteran Israel Radio Correspondent Gideon Kutz Dies at 78
Gideon Kutz, the long-serving Paris correspondent for Kol Yisrael (Israel Radio), has passed away at the age of 78. Kutz dedicated four decades to his reporting, covering a vast array of significant global events. His notable assignments included the fall of the Berlin Wall, the wars in Yugoslavia and Chechnya, the Middle East peace process, the Arab Spring, terrorist attacks across Europe, and the crisis in Ukraine.
Beyond his journalistic career, Kutz was also a dedicated researcher and historian, focusing on the history of Hebrew and Jewish journalism in Europe. He held leadership positions within the foreign press community in France, serving for five years as president of the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in France and later as honorary president.
Kutz is survived by his wife, Yaffa Eiron-Kutz, who is also a journalist and photographer, as well as their son and daughter.
