Gunman Wounds Israeli Near Settlement, Flees After Attack

On the morning of September 20, a shooting attack occurred near the settlement of Neve Tzuf (also known as Halamish) in the Benjamin region. The assailant opened fire on Israelis near the Ein Raya spring, located outside the settlement's fence. One man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was initially in critical condition, later stabilized at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. Another individual received treatment for acute stress reaction.

According to preliminary reports, the attacker arrived by car, fired at people at the spring, then exited the vehicle with his weapon and fled on foot. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a large-scale manhunt involving ground troops, drones, and air force assets. Roads were blocked, and the area was being thoroughly searched.

Reinforcements from the Benjamin territorial brigade, the Duvdevan special forces unit, and additional army and police units were deployed to the scene. The commander of the Judea and Samaria police district, Moshe Pinchi, and the commander of the Samaria district, Avi Cohen, also arrived.

Security forces are continuing to comb the area and block potential escape routes. The exact circumstances of the attack are under investigation. The Ein Raya spring area has been a site of past clashes and protests involving residents of a nearby Palestinian village.
