Israeli Forces Hunt Gunman After West Bank Shooting Near Neve Tzuf
Israeli security forces launched an extensive manhunt for an armed assailant following a shooting incident near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region of the West Bank on Tuesday. Initial footage from the scene showed numerous forces pursuing the suspect, who arrived by vehicle and then fled on foot.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) believe the attacker escaped towards the Palestinian village of Deir Nizam and subsequently imposed a lockdown on the nearby village. "Many IDF forces have launched a pursuit of the terrorist and are carrying out roadblocks in the area," the IDF stated.
In response to the attack, Route 465 was closed to traffic in both directions between Birzeit and the Aboud bypass. The IDF deployed significant forces, including units from the Benjamin Regional Brigade, the Duvdevan Unit, and additional reinforcement companies, alongside Israeli Police. Roadblocks were established throughout the area as forces searched for the suspect on foot and using drones. Air Force assets were also deployed to aid the search.
