Palestinian Gunman Wounds Israeli Man Near West Bank Spring, Flees

A man in his 30s was critically injured in a shooting attack Sunday near the Ein Ri'a spring in the Neve Tzuf area of the West Bank. The assailant, armed with a long rifle, arrived at the spring by car, exited, opened fire on the victim, and then fled the scene on foot. Security forces fear the gunman may still be armed and could carry out another attack.

Following the shooting, a large contingent of Israeli forces, including the IDF's Benjamin Brigade, the Duvdevan unit, additional reinforcement companies, and Israeli police, were deployed to the area. They have established roadblocks and are conducting ground searches for the suspect, utilizing drones and Air Force assets. The road 465 between Bir Zeit and the Abud bypass was closed in both directions due to the security incident.

Magen David Adom paramedics described finding the victim inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, unconscious, and in critical condition. They provided life-saving medical treatment, including blood products, before evacuating him to a hospital, where medical teams continued to fight for his life. United Hatzalah paramedics also reported providing advanced medical care, including stopping bleeding and administering medication.

Police and IDF spokespersons confirmed that extensive searches and roadblocks are in place. District Commander Moshe Finchi and Sector Commander Avi Cohen were en route to the scene. The commander of the Judea and Samaria district and the commander of the Samaria region are heading to the scene.
