Palestinian Terrorist Wounds Israeli Man Near West Bank Settlement

A Palestinian gunman opened fire from a moving vehicle at Israelis bathing in a spring near the settlement of Neve Tzuf in the West Bank on the eve of Yom Kippur, critically wounding one man. The attack occurred at the Ein Ra'aya spring, located in the Benjamin Regional Council.

Israeli security forces, including the IDF, immediately responded to the scene and launched a manhunt for the assailant, who fled the area. Roadblocks were established in the vicinity as the search continued. The IDF is investigating the incident.

Paramedics from United Hatzalah provided initial medical treatment to the victim, described as being in critical, unconscious condition and around 30 years old. He was subsequently evacuated to a hospital. The "Save a Life" organization and the "Judea and Samaria Without Borders" rescue organization confirmed the severity of his injuries.

This area, particularly near Neve Tzuf, has been the site of several shooting attacks and terrorist incidents in recent months. Security forces have conducted extensive counter-terrorism operations in the region, including demolishing the homes of terrorists and arresting wanted individuals.

The attack took place as Israelis were preparing to observe Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism, which involves fasting and prayer, and for some, ritual immersion in water for purification.
