Gun Attack Near Israeli Settlement Leaves Man Critically Wounded

A man in his 30s is in critical condition after being shot near the Israeli settlement of Neve Tzuf in the Benjamin region of the West Bank on Tuesday. MDA and United Hatzalah paramedics provided initial medical treatment at the scene before evacuating him to Beilinson Hospital. Paramedics described finding the man inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds and unconscious, initiating life-saving treatment including blood products en route to the hospital.

Initial reports suggest the shooting occurred from a passing vehicle targeting civilians at a spring called Ein Ra'aya. The IDF confirmed that the attacker emerged from a vehicle armed and fled the scene on foot. The vehicle suspected of being used by the assailant has been documented.

Following the attack, a manhunt was launched for the perpetrator. The IDF deployed forces from the Benjamin Regional Brigade, the Duvdevan Unit, and additional reinforcement companies, alongside Israeli police. Road 465 was closed in both directions between Bir Zeit and the Abbud bypass. Checkpoints were established throughout the area, with forces conducting ground and drone searches for the suspect. Air Force assets were also deployed.

IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi held a situation assessment and ordered reinforcements to aid in the ongoing pursuit. The IDF stated that soldiers and security forces are continuing searches and road closures in the area.
