Gunman Wounds Israeli Man Near West Bank Spring, Flees as Hunt Continues

A man in his 30s was critically injured in a shooting attack near the Ein Ri'a spring in the Naveh Tzuf area of the West Bank on Sunday. The victim was found unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, with emergency medical services fighting to save his life.

The assailant, armed with a long rifle, reportedly arrived at the spring by car, exited the vehicle, and opened fire on the man before fleeing the scene on foot. Security forces are concerned the gunman remains armed and could pose an ongoing threat.

In response to the attack, a large contingent of Israeli forces, including the IDF's Benjamin Brigade, the Duvdevan Unit, additional reinforcement companies, and the Israel Police, were deployed to the area. They have established roadblocks and are conducting extensive ground searches for the suspect, utilizing drones and Air Force assets.

Paramedics described finding the victim inside his vehicle and immediately beginning life-saving treatment, including administering blood products, before evacuating him to the hospital in serious condition. Police officials confirmed a manhunt is underway, with district and regional commanders heading to the scene.

As a result of the incident, Route 465 was closed to traffic between Bir Zeit and the Abbud bypass in both directions. Authorities stated that relevant agencies are handling the situation and an update will be provided when the road reopens.
