Proud Father Defends Son's Mental Health Hospitalization

Yakov Buzaglo, father of former footballer Almog Buzaglo, has publicly defended his son following his voluntary hospitalization at Abarbanel Medical Center. Almog had recently revealed his decision to seek treatment, prompting a range of public reactions.

Yakov Buzaglo addressed the criticism and mockery directed at his son and family on his personal Facebook page. He expressed pride in his family, stating, "I am not ashamed. On the contrary. I am proud. Proud of my family and will continue to be proud of it, in good times and bad."

He emphasized that Almog's decision to share his struggles was an act of honesty, not a joke. "You saw a joke, I saw a person who chose to be real," Yakov wrote. He believes Almog's openness sends an important message about not hiding difficult life moments to appear perfect.

Buzaglo also addressed what he perceived as politically motivated attacks, suggesting some negative comments were aimed at him because he identifies as a "proud leftist." He stated that such criticism only strengthens his resolve to speak his mind without fear.
