Yaakov Buzaglo Defends Son Almog's Hospitalization, Expresses Pride
Yaakov Buzaglo, father of former footballer Almog Buzaglo, has publicly defended his son following Almog's voluntary hospitalization at Abarbanel Medical Center. Almog had revealed his admission a few days prior, stating he was seeking treatment.
In a Facebook post, Yaakov Buzaglo addressed criticism and negative comments directed at his family, particularly concerning Almog's decision to share his struggles. "Before you laugh at Almog, before you slander my family, look at yourselves for a moment," Yaakov wrote. He expressed pride in his family, stating, "I am not ashamed. On the contrary. I am proud. Proud of my family and will continue to be proud of it, in good times and bad."
Buzaglo emphasized that Almog chose to share his experience openly, as he usually does, viewing it not as a joke but as an important message about not hiding life's difficulties to appear perfect. He suggested that some negative reactions were fueled by his own political views as a "proud leftist."
"You saw a joke, I saw a person who chose to be real," he stated, thanking those who used the situation to criticize him and his family, saying it only strengthened his resolve to speak his mind. He concluded by reflecting on the universality of family struggles, noting that no family is immune to crises, and reiterated his family's unity and support for Almog, regardless of life's challenges.
