Tiberias Lake Beaches to Suspend Lifeguard Services for Yom Kippur
The Union of Tiberias Lake Municipalities announced that lifeguard services will be suspended on all its beaches during Yom Kippur, which falls on Monday, September 26, 2026. On the eve of Yom Kippur, Sunday, September 25, 2026, lifeguard services will operate until 2:00 PM.
Security and cleaning services will also cease from 2:00 PM on the eve of the holiday until 8:00 PM the following day. The Union emphasized that while the beaches will remain open to the public, swimming without lifeguard services is prohibited and dangerous.
The Union of Tiberias Lake Municipalities oversees numerous beaches, including Hukok North, Amnon, Kinar, Docha, Dochit, Golan, Kursi, Levnon, Halukim, Jufra, Susita, Tzemah, Tzinbari, Berniki, and Shakmim.
