Likud MK Assails Former Justice Officials Ahead of Netanyahu Trial Testimony

Member of Knesset Moshe Saada of the Likud party has launched a sharp attack on former senior law enforcement officials, including former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit and former State Attorney Shai Nitzan, ahead of Mandelblit's expected testimony in the Netanyahu corruption trial. Speaking on the radio program "Yoman Layla" on Galey Israel, Saada stated that Mandelblit would be a "weak link" and that his testimony would be "the best show in town," implying it would reveal significant failures. Saada, who has known Mandelblit for many years, expressed skepticism about his strength as a witness.

Saada also directed severe criticism at Shai Nitzan, recalling their time together in the prosecution system. He alleged that Nitzan had "no problem lying" and was known within the prosecution as "the man for whom truth was not a guiding principle." Saada suggested that Nitzan's alleged untrustworthiness would be exposed.

The Likud MK further predicted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's defense team, specifically lawyer Amit Haddad, would effectively challenge the credibility of witnesses and the case itself during the cross-examination. Saada believes this would have repercussions, informing the public about the alleged criminality of the defendants and impacting the trial's outcome. He expressed confidence that Haddad would "do a good job and succeed in cracking him," referring to Mandelblit.
