Netanyahu Defense Team Seeks to Call Former Attorney General Mandelblit as Witness
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's defense team has informed the court that their next witness will be former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit. Mandelblit is scheduled to testify starting October 11, just days before the upcoming elections.
The defense's request specifies that the court should issue a summons for Mandelblit to testify on October 11, 12, and 18, through October 22. Mandelblit, in his capacity as Attorney General, was the official who approved the opening of investigations against Netanyahu and made the decision in November 2019 to indict Netanyahu in Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000.
To date, Mandelblit has not yet testified in the ongoing trial.
