Netanyahu Seeks Former Attorney General Mandelblit Testimony Before Election
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested that former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit be summoned to testify in his trial before the upcoming elections. The request was filed by Netanyahu's defense team as part of the "Case of the Thousand" trial proceedings.
Earlier this week, the defense had also sought to call former Knesset Member Eitan Cabel as a witness. However, Cabel is currently serving in the reserves and is unavailable to appear in court.
The defense's filing specifically asks the court to issue a summons for Mandelblit to testify on October 11, October 12, and between October 18 and October 22. Mandelblit served as the Attorney General during the period when investigations were opened against Netanyahu, ultimately leading to the indictment in the "Case of the Thousand".
