Foreign Workers Arrested with Methamphetamine Haul on Southern Highway

Israeli police on Highway 40 in the south of the country intercepted a vehicle carrying four Thai nationals who were allegedly attempting to pick up a large shipment of drugs. The "Ayarot" police station, in conjunction with border police units from the Southern National Guard, stopped the car as part of an ongoing operation targeting drug trafficking.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 2 kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine, estimated to be worth around 3 million shekels. The four suspects, identified as foreign workers from Thailand aged between 30 and 40, were apprehended while traveling north on the highway.

In a separate incident in Ashdod, police seized 2 kilograms of various narcotics, including heroin and cocaine, along with a weapon, during a search of a suspect's apartment. This operation was also part of broader efforts to combat drug distribution.
