Israeli Police Seize 21 Kilos of Crystal Meth in Southern Border Drug Bust

Israeli police forces, including the Magen unit of the Southern District and the Yoav unit, with aerial support, intercepted and arrested a drug trafficking ring near the Egypt border. The operation targeted a vehicle heading toward the Bir al-Hadaj area, resulting in the detention of two suspects and the seizure of approximately 21 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, valued at millions of shekels. The suspects were taken in for interrogation along with the confiscated drugs.

The raid followed a recent police operation in Lakiya, a local council in northern Negev, where searches of suspects' homes uncovered large sums of cash, about 260,000 shekels, 4,250 US dollars, and 5,980 Jordanian dinars. Additionally, two vehicles, a Toyota Yaris and a Range Rover, were impounded by the fine collection authority as part of debt enforcement procedures. The Southern District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Bublil, and Police Commissioner Major General Danni Levi were involved in overseeing the operation.
