Israeli Police Uncover Hidden Crystal Meth in Car Headrest at West Bank Checkpoint

Israeli police and Border Police forces arrested a man in his 30s from Ramla at the a-Za'im checkpoint in the West Bank after discovering illegal drugs concealed in his vehicle. The suspect was stopped during a routine traffic check, but officers, acting on precise intelligence and a month-long covert surveillance, suspected the car was carrying contraband.

The breakthrough came when an investigator removed the passenger seat's headrest and dismantled its fabric cover, revealing a specially cut compartment within the foam. Inside, officers found about 10.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine wrapped in tissue paper. The suspect was immediately detained and taken for questioning at the Maale Adumim police station, while his vehicle was seized for forfeiture.

Police suspect the man traveled from central Israel to supply dangerous drugs to local dealers operating around Maale Adumim and its environs. The suspect was brought before a court hearing the next day, where the police presented the evidence and investigation details. The court extended his detention until July 22, 2026, to allow further inquiry.
