Border Police Officer Shoots Suspect Attacking Him in Umm al-Fahm
Border Police motorcycle unit officers fired at a suspect who attacked one of them in Umm al-Fahm on Tuesday. The incident began when officers on Route 65 noticed a suspicious vehicle and signaled the driver to stop. The driver refused and fled, leading to a pursuit.
As one of the officers approached the suspect's vehicle at the end of the chase, the suspect exited the car and assaulted the officer. Fearing for his life, the Border Police officer discharged his weapon, hitting the suspect.
The wounded suspect was evacuated for medical treatment. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
