Herzog Slams Anti-Israel Film as 'Shame and Disgrace'

President Isaac Herzog has strongly condemned the anti-Israel film "Nez" (Nazi), calling it a "shame and disgrace" and defending the actions of IDF soldiers. Speaking to Kan Reshet Bet radio, Herzog stated that every IDF unit has a legal advisor overseeing decision-making processes, and that cabinet decisions have been delayed to prevent harm. "Therefore, this film, from my perspective, is a shame and disgrace," he said.

Herzog also addressed the ongoing trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging for its conclusion. "Netanyahu's trial must end, this case is tearing Israeli society apart and causing long-term, severe, and significant damage," he stated. The President proposed alternative avenues to resolve the legal proceedings, offering to mediate under the auspices of the President's Residence. "It is possible to fulfill the principles of justice through a settlement. I have offered to hold mediation under the auspices of the President's Residence, but the Prime Minister has not yet responded, and I am intentionally leaving the door open because I believe this is an issue that will ultimately be discussed and settled," Herzog explained.

Looking ahead to the upcoming elections, Herzog expressed his desire for a stable government and indicated his willingness to intervene if necessary to prevent ongoing political polarization. "Israel needs a stable government after the elections," he said, adding, "If there is a political situation that requires my intervention, I will do so."
