Maccabi Tel Aviv Star Daniel Theis Questionable for Super Cup Final

Maccabi Tel Aviv's key player Daniel Theis is uncertain to play in the team's first official game of the season, the Super Cup final against Hapoel Tel Aviv, due to an ankle injury. Theis, considered a central figure for the upcoming 2026/27 season under coach Oded Katash, has only played limited minutes in a preseason friendly against Rishon Lezion and missed two games in Cyprus because of the injury. While not considered severe, a final decision on his participation will be made shortly before the game. If Theis cannot play, the club aims to have him ready for Maccabi's EuroLeague opener against Villeurbanne.

Another significant player facing doubt is guard Jalen Clark. The American guard, who saw increased playing time last season and is expected to play a crucial role, suffered a hamstring tear during the preseason and has not fully recovered. Similar to Theis, the team's goal is to prepare Clark for the EuroLeague game against the French team if he misses the Super Cup final.

Regarding the rest of the roster, Gor Levy will continue to be sidelined with an injury sustained last season. TJ Leaf, who recently returned, is fit to play, and Yair Mader, who took a knock in the last game against Olympiacos, is also ready for action.
