Maccabi Tel Aviv's Daniel Theis Cleared of Serious Injury After MRI in Germany

Maccabi Tel Aviv received reassuring news on Monday as Daniel Theis's MRI scan in Germany showed no significant damage. Theis, who was injured during the Supercup game against Croatia on Saturday after a blow from Ivica Zubac, experienced discomfort and left the match early. Despite initial concerns, updates from Theis and his team confirmed the injury was not serious, allowing him to be expected to play for Germany in their upcoming game against the Netherlands on Thursday.

In addition to Theis, Maccabi Tel Aviv is currently missing several key players due to national team duties and injuries. Ifa Lundberg and Jalen Hood-Schifino are with Denmark and France respectively, while Israeli national team members Yam Madar and Roman Sorkin are also absent. Injured players TJ Leaf, Gur Levi, and Keaton Wallace, who is arriving from Paris later this week, add to the roster challenges. Maccabi plans to hold their first preparatory match against Bnei Herzliya in nearly two weeks, aiming to field a full squad.

Theis's German national team, which won 96-87 against Croatia in the game where he was injured, will face the Netherlands and Poland in the current international window. A victory in either match is expected to secure their qualification for the World Championship in Qatar next year.
