Daniel Theis, the new center for Maccabi Tel Aviv, suffered an injury during a preparatory basketball tournament in Germany ahead of the upcoming season. The tournament, part of the teams' preparations for the World Cup qualifiers, saw Germany narrowly defeat Croatia 87-86 in the final. Theis started the game for Germany but exited after just over six minutes following a collision with Croatian player Ivica Zubac. German media reported that Theis did not return to the court due to discomfort, and his availability for the official upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Poland remains uncertain.

Germany dominated the second quarter en route to their victory, led by Oscar de Silva with 22 points, Maodo Lo with 19 points, and Dennis Schröder who contributed 10 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds. The basketball season is set to resume next month, but national teams are currently focused on their World Cup qualifying matches, using these preparatory games to fine-tune their squads.
