Theis started the game but played just over six minutes before falling awkwardly in a contest with Croatian player Ivica Zubac and subsequently left the court due to discomfort. German media reported that Theis did not return to play for the remainder of the match, and his availability for the official upcoming games against the Netherlands and Poland remains uncertain.

The German team dominated the second quarter en route to their victory, led by Oscar de Silva with 22 points, Maodo Lo with 19 points, and Dennis Schröder who contributed 10 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.
