Northern Mayor Says Gadi Eisenkot Open to Ra'am Coalition Talks
The mayor of Tuba-Zangaria, Muaid Al-Hayb, stated in an interview with Boaz Golan on Channel 14 that he met with Gadi Eisenkot along with seven other northern local authority heads. During the meeting, Al-Hayb asked Eisenkot, should he be tasked with forming a government, to first approach center-left parties and consider including the United Arab List (Ra'am) in the coalition.
Al-Hayb claimed that Eisenkot did not give an explicit commitment on the matter, stating, "There was no explicit promise, but at the same time, there was no denial either." He added that the issue was raised in a full forum with Eisenkot's team and the mayors present.
Furthermore, Al-Hayb confirmed reports of ongoing contacts between Eisenkot and Ra'am leader Mansour Abbas, saying, "I heard from sources close to the matter that contacts are taking place between Eisenkot and Mansour Abbas."
