Gaza Building Collapse Kills 13 Palestinians, Including Children and Women
At least 13 Palestinians died early Wednesday when a residential building, damaged during the recent war, collapsed in Gaza. Palestinian journalists documented the recovery of the victims, the majority of whom were women and children. Fourteen others were rescued with injuries ranging from serious to minor by the time of reporting.
The Gaza Civil Defense reported that dozens of people are still missing under the rubble of the building, which collapsed due to damage sustained during the war. Residents of the Shujaiya neighborhood had been living in the building after being displaced from their homes and opting for the structure over tents, only for it to collapse due to war-related damage.
This incident highlights the precarious living conditions for many in Gaza following the conflict, with damaged infrastructure posing ongoing risks to civilians.
