Gaza Building Collapse Kills 8, Dozens Missing
Rescue efforts were underway since Wednesday dawn to find survivors trapped under the rubble of a residential building that collapsed in the industrial area west of Gaza City. Sources reported that the building had previously been subjected to bombing.
The Civil Defense stated that its teams, in cooperation with municipal crews, have been working since midnight to rescue people trapped in the "Al-Saada" building, a six-story structure that collapsed on its displaced residents and adjacent tents. By 7 a.m., rescue teams had recovered 8 bodies and dozens of injured individuals. The collapse resulted in approximately 60 people being injured or missing.
