Channel 12 Analyst Criticizes Filmmaker and Foreign Ministry Over Gaza Documentary

A documentary titled "Nezah," produced by The Guardian and created by Yuval Avraham and Rachel Shore, is causing controversy due to serious allegations against Israel and the IDF. The film focuses on the deaths of Palestinian civilians in Israeli Air Force strikes in the Gaza Strip during the war, examining intelligence mechanisms and target selection processes through 24 testimonies from individuals described as Israeli soldiers and officers. The documentary premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it received a special jury prize.

Nadav Peri, a commentator on Channel 12's current affairs programs and a broadcaster on 103FM radio, addressed the film's impact. "I am not asking for an accounting from Yuval Avraham; he is not my government and holds no official position, although I am angry at him for slandering me before the Gentiles," Peri stated. He also sharply criticized the actions of Foreign Minister G Gideon Saar, in light of the global reaction to the film. "The embassy in Italy warned in advance before the screening, what are we paying taxes for? When you see the Foreign Ministry reprimanding this and that, they don't even do the basics."

Filmmaker Yuval Avraham spoke with Raviv Drucker on Channel 13, expressing a desire to return to Israel but fearing the reception he might face. "I deleted my social media accounts yesterday. I'm constantly looking. I see a picture of myself and then pictures of my mother, then there's some kind of attack. It's clear that it's difficult. The country is my home, it's a place I want to live in and it's a place that is so important to me. It's clear I'm afraid I won't be able to return. What will I do abroad?" Avraham said.
