Israel's Envoy to UAE Predicts Another Arab Nation to Join Abraham Accords Soon

Israel's ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Yossi Shelley, announced Tuesday that another country, possibly Kuwait, is expected to join the Abraham Accords within four to six months. Shelley made the remarks in an interview with Kan Reshet Bet.

His comments come amidst renewed discussion about the Abraham Accords, initiated during the Trump administration. Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently posted on his Truth Social platform that negotiations with Iran were progressing, but emphasized his preference for a "big deal for everyone or no deal at all." He warned that failure to reach an agreement could lead to a return to conflict, which he stated no one desires.

Trump recalled recent conversations with Middle Eastern and Muslim leaders, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad, and others from Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. He urged these nations to simultaneously sign the Abraham Accords, noting that the UAE and Bahrain are already signatories. Trump suggested that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain should join the agreements, though he acknowledged one or two might opt out, stressing that most should be ready and willing to expand the Iran deal into a broader historical event.
