Health Ministry Warns of Dangerous Weight Loss Product "G-Slim"
Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against the purchase and consumption of the weight loss product "G-Slim" after a young man was hospitalized with chest pains and rapid heartbeat after using it. Laboratory tests conducted by the ministry revealed that the product contains the banned pharmaceutical substance sibutramine at a concentration of 53.8 mg per capsule, which is three times the dosage previously outlawed.
The ministry emphasized that sibutramine is extremely dangerous to health and can lead to heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, and even be life-threatening. It urged the public to avoid purchasing dietary supplements and weight loss products from social media or unregulated websites.
Authorities recommend buying medications exclusively from authorized pharmacies and health and beauty chains. The public is also encouraged to report any suspected cases of counterfeit product marketing to the "Kol HaBriut" (Health Call) hotline at *5400.
