Health Ministry Recalls "G-Slim" Weight Loss Product After Hospitalization

Israel's Ministry of Health has issued an urgent warning and recall for the "G-Slim" weight loss product, which is being marketed without the ministry's approval. The action follows an enforcement operation where the product was tested and found to contain undeclared and dangerous substances.

Laboratory tests revealed that "G-Slim" contains Sibutramine, a pharmaceutical ingredient banned in Israel and many other countries due to severe health risks. Each capsule was found to contain 53.8 mg of Sibutramine, more than three times the dosage of a previously banned similar product. The ministry noted that no registered products in Israel contain this substance.

The recall was prompted by a recent report of a young man who was hospitalized after consuming "G-Slim," experiencing chest pains and rapid heartbeat. Sibutramine, when used without medical supervision, can cause serious side effects including high blood pressure, rapid pulse, anxiety, nervousness, insomnia, heart attacks, strokes, psychiatric disorders, and can be life-threatening. The high concentration found in "G-Slim" exacerbates these risks.

The Ministry of Health is cautioning the public against purchasing and consuming unapproved and counterfeit products, especially those sold via social media, messaging groups, or unknown websites. Consumers are urged to buy medications, supplements, and health products only from authorized locations like pharmacies and health store chains.
