Health Ministry Warns of Dangerous Weight Loss Supplement

Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against the consumption and purchase of "G-Slim," an unapproved weight loss product found to contain Sibutramine, a banned pharmaceutical ingredient. Laboratory tests revealed that each capsule contains 53.8 mg of Sibutramine, more than three times the amount found in a similar product previously outlawed in Israel. Sibutramine is prohibited in Israel and many other countries due to severe health risks, including increased blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, insomnia, heart attack, stroke, psychiatric disorders, and potentially fatal outcomes.

The ministry highlighted a recent case where a young man was hospitalized with chest pains and a rapid pulse after using the product. The risk is considered even higher due to the unusually large quantity of Sibutramine detected. The Ministry of Health cautions the public against using counterfeit and unregulated products that can harm public health.

It urges consumers to purchase medications, dietary supplements, and health products only from authorized sources like pharmacies and pharmacy chains, and to avoid buying from social media, messaging groups, or unfamiliar websites.
