Apple Bundles Streaming and Gaming Services with Cloud Storage

Apple is enhancing its iCloud+ cloud storage offering by including subscriptions to its Apple TV+ streaming service and Apple Arcade gaming service for all paying customers. This means users who subscribe to any iCloud+ plan, starting with the basic 50GB tier for 3.90 shekels per month, will now receive complimentary access to hundreds of movies, series, and games.

The move aims to add value for iCloud+ subscribers and potentially boost viewership for Apple's content services, which compete with platforms like Netflix and Disney+. Apple TV+ features original content such as "Ted Lasso," "Severance," and award-winning films like "CODA." Apple Arcade offers a library of mobile games without ads or in-app purchases.

While the standard monthly subscription for Apple TV+ alone costs 25.90 shekels, and Apple Arcade also has a separate fee, the new bundle integrates them into the iCloud+ subscription cost. The duration of this offer, whether it's a permanent addition or a limited-time promotion, remains unclear.

Eddy Cue, Apple's Senior Vice President, expressed excitement about bringing these services together for iCloud+ users in over 100 countries. The subscription can be shared with up to five family members, further extending the value proposition.
