18 Illegal Residents Caught in Lod After Fleeing Vehicle
Eighteen individuals staying in Israel illegally were apprehended in the city of Lod after attempting to hide in a nearby compound. Police reported that the group had exited a commercial vehicle, fled from law enforcement, and tried to barricade themselves inside the compound. Border Police officers from the Central District noticed the vehicle stopping near the compound and observed numerous individuals exiting it. When ordered to stop, the suspects fled on foot.
After a pursuit, officers secured the compound and apprehended the individuals. The driver of the vehicle, a Lod resident in his 30s, was detained on suspicion of transporting illegal residents. His vehicle was confiscated for investigative purposes. The driver and the 18 individuals were transferred to the Lod police station for further questioning.
