Israeli Police Arrest 18 Illegal Migrants and Driver in Lod
Border Police officers in Lod apprehended 18 Palestinian migrants who were in Israel illegally, along with their driver, a local man in his 30s. The incident occurred when officers on routine patrol noticed a van stopped near a building. Approximately twenty men exited the vehicle. Upon seeing the officers and being ordered to stop, the individuals fled into a nearby house and attempted to barricade themselves inside. Police surrounded the building and initiated a search. Some individuals attempted to escape on foot but were apprehended after a chase. The van used to transport the migrants was seized as part of the investigation, and authorities intend to seek its confiscation. All 19 individuals were taken to the Lod police station for further questioning.
