Rare Dolphin Washed Ashore in Tel Aviv, Public Urged to Report Sightings

A dolphin that washed ashore on Jerusalem Beach in Tel Aviv-Yafo on Tuesday morning was returned to the sea by citizens who attempted to help it. Following the incident, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority expressed concern that the dolphin may be injured and in need of professional assistance. They have appealed to the public for help in locating the animal.

The Authority stressed that if the dolphin is found again, it should not be returned to the water. Instead, individuals who encounter it are asked to call the Nature and Parks Authority hotline at *3639 and remain with the dolphin until a professional team arrives. The goal is to enable experts to quickly assess the dolphin's condition and transfer it for treatment if necessary. The Authority urged anyone who sees the dolphin to follow these instructions and refrain from attempting to treat it independently.
