Israel Nature Authority Seeks Public Help After Dolphin Stranding
Israel's Nature and Parks Authority issued an urgent appeal to the public on Tuesday morning for assistance following a dolphin stranding incident at Jerusalem Beach in the city. Early Tuesday, the dolphin was observed washing ashore. While bystanders attempted to return the animal to the sea, the Authority warned that such actions could be harmful and expressed grave concern that the dolphin is injured or ill and requires immediate professional aid.
Due to the serious risk to the dolphin's life, the Nature and Parks Authority is requesting that beachgoers and individuals in the coastal area refrain from returning the dolphin to the water if they encounter it. Instead, they are urged to immediately contact the Authority's hotline at *3639 and remain with the animal until professional teams arrive to provide appropriate medical treatment and transport it for examination.
