Tel Aviv Dolphin Rescued by Public Returns to Sea, Officials Seek Its Return
A dolphin washed ashore on Tel Aviv's "Jerusalem" beach early Tuesday morning, prompting concerned citizens to push it back into the sea. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority is now appealing to the public for assistance in locating the marine animal, as there are fears it may be injured and require expert medical attention.
"We are asking for the public's help," the authority stated in a release. Officials emphasized that if the dolphin is encountered again, it must not be returned to the water. Instead, residents are instructed to call the authority's hotline at *3639 and wait for specialists to arrive, remaining near the animal until help is present.
