National Insurance Institute Expands Free Consultation Services for Seniors
The National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) is enhancing its free services for elderly citizens and their families, aiming to ensure they fully access their rights. The institute is increasing its digital presence, utilizing social media, Telegram, and WhatsApp to inform the public about benefits, legislative changes, and social rights.
In a recent announcement, Bituah Leumi introduced an expanded consultation service specifically for seniors. This national consultation service is available free of charge at all Bituah Leumi branches across Israel. The service is staffed by approximately 4,500 retired professionals who volunteer their time and expertise.
These volunteers, with extensive life and professional experience, assist visitors with bureaucratic procedures, explain available payments and benefits, and offer emotional support. In addition to in-person consultations, Bituah Leumi operates a nationwide telephone center. Seniors can reach specialists at *9696 from Sunday to Thursday, between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM.
Bituah Leumi encourages elderly citizens and the estimated four million relatives who assist them to utilize this service. The institute urges them to seek consultations and claim all legally guaranteed rights. Previously, the outlet reported on a new scam targeting Israelis on social media.
