Palestinian reports from Gaza identified the deceased as Ahmed al-Batsh, who served as the commander of the weapons division for Hamas's northern Gaza brigade.
Al-Batsh was also reportedly a battalion commander for Jabalia in the military wing during the current war. Furthermore, he was described as one of the senior figures in the northern Gaza brigade that infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7th.
