Lexus ES Launches in Israel with New Electric and Hybrid Options

Lexus is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Israel by introducing the eighth generation of its ES sedan. This new model arrives with significant updates, including the availability of a fully electric powertrain for the first time, alongside its established hybrid option. The new ES is larger than its predecessor, measuring 5.14 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase extended by 8 centimeters to 2.95 meters.

The ES will be offered in Israel with two main powertrains. The 300h hybrid model features a 2.5-liter engine and an electric motor, producing a combined 201 horsepower, front-wheel drive, a CVT transmission, and an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, with a fuel economy of 20.8 km/liter. The new all-electric 300e variant boasts a single motor with 227 horsepower, front-wheel drive, and also accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. It is equipped with a 77 kWh battery (72 kWh usable) offering a range of 525-581 km, a 22 kW onboard charger for a 4-hour 10%-100% charge, and 150 kW fast charging capability (10%-80% in 28 minutes).

Globally, Lexus also offers all-wheel-drive hybrid versions (300h AWD, 350h with 224 hp) and a more powerful electric all-wheel-drive 500e model with 343 hp, capable of 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. However, it is not yet confirmed if these will be available in Israel.

Lexus has revised its trim levels, discontinuing the 'Kyushu' trim. The entry-level 'Hadori' trim, available for both hybrid and electric models, is now more equipped, including synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch multimedia screen with smartphone connectivity and OTA updates, wireless charging, a rearview camera, and a panoramic sunroof. The mid-tier 'Takumi' trim, exclusive to the hybrid, adds 360-degree cameras, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, acoustic side windows, automatic parking, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. The 'Takumi Plus' electric trim includes full leather upholstery, enhanced seat adjustments, and adaptive suspension. The top-tier 'Kiwami' trim, available only for the electric model, focuses on rear passenger comfort with features like an additional wireless charger, a reclining rear seat with leg rest, rear seat heating, ventilation, massage functions, and an additional rear climate zone.

Pricing for the new Lexus ES starts at 355,000 shekels for the 300h Hadori hybrid, going up to 430,000 shekels for the 300e Kiwami electric model. The vehicle comes with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, with an option to extend the battery warranty to 10 years or one million kilometers. Service intervals are set at 15,000 km or one year.
