Lexus Launches Eighth-Generation ES Sedan in Israel with Hybrid and Electric Options

Lexus is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Israel by introducing the eighth generation of its ES sedan. This new model arrives with significant updates, including its first-ever fully electric variant, alongside a hybrid option. The new ES is larger than its predecessor, measuring 5.14 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase extended by 8 centimeters to 2.95 meters.

The ES will be available in Israel with two powertrain options. The 300h hybrid model features a 2.5-liter engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 201 horsepower. It boasts front-wheel drive, a continuously variable transmission, an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, and a fuel economy of 20.8 km per liter.

The fully electric 300e variant is equipped with a single motor providing 227 horsepower and front-wheel drive, also achieving 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. Its 77 kWh battery offers a range of 525-581 kilometers. The electric model supports 22 kW AC charging and 150 kW DC fast charging, capable of going from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes.

Globally, other variants exist, including all-wheel-drive hybrid options (300h AWD, 350h with 224 hp) and a more powerful electric version (500e AWD with 343 hp). However, only the 300h and 300e will be offered in Israel.

Lexus has revamped its trim levels for the new ES. The entry-level Hadori trim, available for both hybrid and electric versions, is more equipped than the previous top-tier trim. It includes synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with memory, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch multimedia screen, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. The mid-range Takumi trim, exclusive to the hybrid, adds 360-degree cameras, a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. The Takumi Plus trim, for the electric model, includes full leather upholstery, enhanced seat adjustments, and adaptive suspension. The top-tier Kiwami trim, also for the electric model, focuses on rear passenger comfort with features like a reclining rear seat with a leg rest, heated, ventilated, and massaging rear seats, and an additional rear climate zone.

Pricing for the new Lexus ES starts at 355,000 shekels for the 300h Hadori trim, going up to 430,000 shekels for the 300e Kiwami trim. The vehicle comes with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, with the battery covered for 5 years/100,000 km, extendable to 10 years or one million kilometers. Service intervals are set at 15,000 km or one year.
